Our Boundary Waters Canoe Outfitter Philosophy
Portages can be the most challenging obstacle in the Canoe Country. Williams and Hall Canoe Trip Outfitters is dedicated to outfitting with "One Pack Per Person for a Seven Day Trip." As such, one trip across the portage, not two or more. This makes the portages easier, and the easier the portages the more likely you are to go further back into the woods and find better fishing, solitude, and wildlife. Certainly, the secret is the outfitting equipment. We provide the lightest weight gear available to achieve our objective. That is why we are the premier Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness canoe outfitter.
Our Priority Is
Wilderness Canoe Trip Quality Equipment For Complete Outfitting
The Best Canoes found in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness
As North America's only BWCA outfitter specializing in ultra-lightweight canoe outfitting, our canoes, tents, sleeping bags, packs, and food are custom made to our specifications. We outfit with We-No-Nah Kevlar canoes. We also use lightweight Alumicraft aluminum canoes. The canoes weigh in from 42 to 65 lbs and are designed specifically for our lakes and portages. We often offer prototypes of models before they are offered to the public. We were the first outfitter to outfit with these top of the line Kevlar canoes.
First In Carbon Fiber Canoes
And, beginning in 2015, our Ely BWCA outfitter location became the first Boundary Waters Outfitter to offer carbon fiber ultra-lightweight canoes to our customers. Weighing in at 35 lbs, these beauties created by the Savage River Canoe Company represent the finest canoes available in the Boundary Waters. If you want it right and light, treat yourself to a week in one of these beauties. This equipment will result in the best experience when paddling the miles of canoe routes in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness and Quetico Park.
The Best Equipment in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area
We were also the first outfitter to offer the "Granite Gear" & "Kondos" Ballistics Cloth packs with controlled weight distribution, padded curved shoulder straps and hip belts. We were the first outfitter to offer Therma-Rest self-inflating sleeping pads by Cascade Design. This equipment greatly helps you enjoy your canoe camping trip.
The Best Food For a Canoe Trip
Our ultra-lightweight food is specially packed with our label by Cache Lake, Alpine Aire, and Natural High. This freeze-dried food has come a long way in recent years, and you will find it represents an excellent value by saving weight and bulk without sacrificing flavor and nutrition.
